Cortisol Stress Hormones Destroy Muscle Tissues

There are several reasons why your muscles do not grow or why your muscle growth is retarded. One of the key leaders of your muscle tissue in a catabolic, not in an anabolic state is the stress hormone cortisol. This stress hormone, cortisol, is produced by your body when you are in stressful situations.

Yes, all kinds of stress, whether psychological stress, physical stress or emotional stressor simply increased production of cortisol hormones. High levels of cortisol is always a way for bodybuilders, and that in itself creates more stress.

When you move, or especially in weight lifting, body building, you must install a huge effort from the body. This in turn causes the hormone cortisol in the body become unreasonably high, which can destroy muscle tissue, bone density and cause weight gain, particularly abdominal fat. Ohhh ... that the abdominal fat that will not go away.

This hormone hate muscles and wants to put on weight. It takes a protein in the muscles. However, to be fair this hormone, cortisol, the hormone is beneficial functions.

Cortisol is produced in the adrenal cortex and is commonly known as a stress hormone because the level of cortisol in the body increases greatly when you're under stress. This hormone plays an important role in metabolic function of the body, it helps cardiovascular function, metabolism of carbohydrates and controlling inflammation. After all, it is a steroid hormone.

The more cortisol produced, muscle tissue breaks down muscle protein from amino acids are changed into glucose for energy. This hormone also inhibits new muscle tissue to grow because it interferes with protein synthesis in muscle.

How to lower cortisol levels?

• Get enough sleep - Let your body recover from stress of the day and let the body rebuild its door and tears. Lack of sleep puts your body under extra stress and therefore increase levels of cortisol.

• Avoid stress - take up yoga, read a book, take a break from what you do. Learn the techniques of meditation and breathing to reduce daily stress. Take a week or break your exercise routine after 6-8 weeks of regular training. As your body learns to relax, the level of the drop in hormone cortisol accordingly.

• Do not over-train - More training is a common problem in athletes of all types. This is especially true in bodybuilding and weightlifting. You are already damaging your muscles when you lift weights, do not let hormones cortisol Rob your muscles need the protein and preventing the repair and muscle growth.

Once your body and your mind is free from stress, your cortisol production is at a healthy level again and see your muscles growing while you do other things that are conducive to getting your muscles to grow.
