Muscle vs Weight

You've probably heard that muscle weighs more than fat. Many people see a small weight gain when they begin to lift weights consistently. In general, if you lift weights 2-3 times a week you can win a pound of muscle per month for about 6 months.

After that, the rate of increase diminishes as you begin to reach their genetic potential. For the same reason, go a long way in the progression of weight at first, but the more you lift, your progress will be reduced because they are reaching their genetic potential.

Do not worry about a pound of body weight for strength training, because it's worth it. For every 3 pounds of muscle you build, research shows you can increase your resting metabolic rate by about 7 percent. For example, if your body will burn 1200 calories a day (do not count as exercise or other movement), you can burn 84 extra calories a day for those 3 pounds of muscle.

Many women have a hard time passing for the 2-3 pound dumbbell weights, because they are afraid that if you increase the weight and mass. If you are satisfied with the strength and appearance of muscles, you can make a treatment program five pound weights. However, if you want more power, you can go 8 or 10 pound weights and thick again.

Heavy loads can increase muscle size, but it is very unlikely that you bulky. Women are not natural hormone testosterone, necessary to build big muscles, and even if you could lose you have to use heavy weights significantly.

Another option is to increase muscle tone repetitions rather than weight gain. A program high-repetition/light-weight tone muscles and increase strength and endurance without significantly increasing muscle size.

I tell my clients not to just go through the motion when lifting weights. I use the word "squeeze" a lot to describe muscle contraction, you should be focused on.

Do you work the muscle and squeeze or contract as you lift. You will get much more benefit to your efforts if you can squeeze the muscle to lift instead of just up and down the weight without focusing on the muscle.
